Whether because intoxicating melodies help put over a performer's on-screen character or immediate intros are so potent they let everyone know who's about to stroll down the aisle , having kick-ass entrance music is as important in WWE now as it ever was.
Traditionalists beware, because there's no Jim Johnston to thank for most of these beauties. His 32-year association with WWE is now over, and there are new music-makers in town.
Don't despair though. The spirit of WWE's ex-music man lives on since his departure in 2017, and the same marriage of wrestler and sound he used to great effect is as vital as ever when introducing a newbie or signalling the arrival of an old favourite. It's pure theatre, and it's bloody awesome; envisioning a WWE without music has become impossible.
It's important to exercise a subjective attitude when discussing what makes a great entrance track. Everybody has their own (usually strong) opinions, and a song one person finds excellent will surely be someone's idea of crap. That's just the way it is.

10. Kurt Angle (Medal)
The opening strains of "Medal" leave nobody, young or old, in any doubt about who's about to walk through the curtain. Kurt Angle's theme must be one of the only examples of recycled music used before his debut that has now become synonymous only with him.
Nobody is thinking of Del Wilkes when that fanfare strikes up, put it that way.
Everything about the theme is perfect. From punchy opening and gaps just long enough for fans to enjoy themselves with a hearty "You Suck" chant, to repetition and a sense of pomp and circumstance, the song hits all the right notes. Literally.
Sometimes, a theme comes along that feels permanent. That's "Medal", and it'd be implausible to imagine WWE mucking around with the tune's simple melody or (worse) trying to give Kurt something fresh. As soon as he started to get over in 2000, this was his theme for life.
