10 Best Endings In WWE Royal Rumble History
7. Stone Cold Steve Austin And Kane (2001)
From the random return of Haku to Drew Carey entering as an official participant, the 2001 version of the Rumble was an unforgettable one to say the least. But it will be forever remembered by fans as the night Kane broke the record for most eliminations in one Rumble match (until Roman Reigns beat his record, of course). Raven. Perry Saturn. Crash Holly. Albert. Even The Rock - Kane took aim at everyone who stepped in his way and sent them sailing over the top rope and out of the match.
It didn't seem as if anyone was capable of halting his momentum. That was until Stone Cold Steve Austin entered at No. 27. With the exception of Armageddon 2000, Austin had been removed from the WWE Championship picture after coming back from his near career-ending neck injury. This was possibly his final opportunity to get back to the main event of WrestleMania, and when it came down to him and Kane, the tension was palpable.
The two went blow-for-blow with Kane nearly knocking Austin out cold with a steel chair, but it wasn't enough to keep The Bionic Redneck down. He battled back with a number of chair shots of his own, a Stunner, and finally a clothesline over the top rope, sending The Big Red Machine to the floor. It marked Stone Cold's third Rumble victory, a feat that has yet to be matched.
