The wrestling business is one that has so often been synonymous with legacy and lineage, as more and more second, third and even fourth generation grapplers make their way in the industry.

Of course, just having a famous last name or a prestigious heritage isn't always a guaranteed recipe for success and fame, for we've seen so many young wrestlers from solid stock never manage to fully find their own foothold in the business. Whether that's due to the pressure of living up to a last name, feeling forced into the family business, or simply not being quite good enough, many a next generation of wrestler have found themselves exiting the wrestling world without leaving any particular mark.

On the other side of this, there are those who have taken their family legacy and ran with the ball, going on to cement themselves as a true star of the industry and maybe even surpassing the names who have come before them.

To home in on the father/son dynamics of the business, and many a pops has steered his son through the trials and tribulations of the wrestling world - with some even doing this in living colour on our TV screens.

Here, then, are ten of the greatest father and son wrestling team-ups ever seen over the decades.

10. Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio

The most recent example of a father and son pairing sharing wrestling screen time, is obviously Rey Mysterio and Dominik.

Given how the world itself is tinged in a consistent sense of groundhog day right now, it’s easy to forget that Dominik only had his formal in-ring debut less than six months ago. That in-ring bow would come back at last August’s SummerSlam PPV, where the 23-year-old would battle Seth Rollins following the Messiah’s removal of Rey’s eye.

With his father and uncle legendary wrestlers in their own right, one would hope that Dominik would have as good a chance as any of making it in the wrestling business, but time and time again we’ve seen that genetics and legacy don’t always translate to success for a budding superstar. For Dominik, though, it’s been a case ‘so far, so good’ in what we’ve seen from the young high-flyer to date.

Having had training from his father, Lance Storm, Konnan and Jay Lethal – and now with the WWE Performance Center at his disposal – there’s certainly plenty of upside to Dominik Mysterio. And for he and his iconic father Rey, they seem to be having a blast getting to be featured together on WWE programming - even more so, when it doesn't revolve around an angle over Dominik's parentage!
