There isn't a wrestler whose persona single-handedly embodies the Attitude Era more than 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

With his complete disregard for authority and willingness to fight at the drop of a hat, 'Stone Cold' was as unhinged as he was unpredictable. It was this unpredictable nature that helped make him one of the biggest names the professional wrestling business has ever seen. Moreover, the fact that no one could hurl an entertaining insult quite like 'The Texas Rattlesnake' only made him that much more of a fan favourite.

In truth, one could make a strong case that 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin had insults down to a science. If there's ever a college course on belittling others, the Texas native is more than qualified to be the head instructor.

Of course, 'Stone Cold' had so many great moments on the mic - in which he excelled at disparaging his rivals - that compiling a list of the ten best 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin insults is a challenging endeavour.

Still, as we are about to see, there are some iconic insults that managed to stand out among their peers.

It was Stone Cold's legendary feud with Bret 'Hitman' Hart that really helped make Austin a household name. Their match at WrestleMania 13 would go down as one of the best in the pay-per-view's illustrious history and serves as a text book example of how to execute a double turn. Of course it was 'Stone Cold's' razor sharp tongue that helped get this fued off to a hot start.

Over the course of their iconic rivalry, 'The Rattlesnake' had some choice words for the 'Hitman.' One of Austin's most memorable insults was, 'If you put a 'S' in front of Hitman, you have my exact thoughts on Bret Hart.'

Get it? He's calling him Sh*tman.

Sure, the remark is incredibly juvenile, and more than few Bret Hart haters had probably used it before privately, but when Austin said it, it just sounded really cool. It's a classic example of how Austin's delivery could help turn an otherwise forgettable line, into wrestling gold.
