10 Best WCW World Title Matches Ever

2. Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair (Chi-Town Rumble 1989)

Some wrestlers just have amazing chemistry together, and there's no better example of that than Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. Seemingly made for one another, every single time the duo locked up in the centre of the ring, people were captivated. At Spring Stampede 1994, Flair and Steamboat would put on a clinic, but it was an earlier match between the pair, at the Chi-Town Rumble event in 1989, that magic was in the air. Challenging for the World Title, Steamboat had the fans in his corner, and they'd be jumping up and down by the end, after their hero caught Flair with a small package roll-up, right before the champion locked on his patented Figure-Four Leglock. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xz7ctr_03-89-02-20-ric-flair-vs-ricky-steamboat-chi-town-rumble_sport Many fans enjoyed the NWA/WCW in 1989 for different reasons to the WWF - the company was far more wrestling-focused, putting emphasis on the big matches over everything else, and appearing a little more traditional in nature.
