Before Daniel Bryan had officially retired - when he was first looking to get out of his WWE contract and wrestle elsewhere - he cited interest in competing for NJPW and lucha libre organization CMLL. As a free agent, he would be able to pursue both of those dreams.
If Bryan were to go to CMLL, there'd be no higher-profile match for him than a bout with Atlantis. The legendary lucha superstar may be 54 years old, but he's like The Undertaker - a larger-than-life presence who can still compete at a high level. He's also undefeated in matches in which he's put his mask on the line.
The perfect CMLL bout for Bryan would see the former WWE Champion headline a major show - maybe even the company's Anniversary Show - against Atlantis, putting his hair on the line against the lucha legend's mask. The heat for the match would be incredible, and while Bryan would have to lose, odds are it would be worth the payday to shave his head.
