10 Best WWE Gimmicks Of 2014

7. Seth Rollins - The Corporate Sellout

Seth Rollins by most metrics is probably the WWE€™s most valuable superstar of 2014. A lot of that is due to the fact that the guy is simply a machine in the ring. He is an absolute workhorse that gets the very best out of everybody he grapples with. Can anybody think of a bad Seth Rollins match this year? Some wonky finishes maybe, but from his six man tags with The Shield to his singles performances after their breakup, Seth Rollins delivers in the ring all the time. With all that said, a lot of what made him so valuable this year was his ability to be the company€™s top heel for about half of the calendar year. He really personified the corporate sellout gimmick and made himself the most reviled character in the company not named Stephanie or Triple H. He sells the corporate sellout shtick in everything from his mannerisms, to his interactions with other superstars, to the way that he speaks. Everything he says and does seems disingenuous and snarky. Part of that may be that his promos have never sounded quite natural, but for the character he is playing, that actually accentuates the gimmick. It€™s certainly not as gimmicky, for the lack of a better word, as most of the other gimmicks you€™ll see on the list, but Rollins deserves credit for being the very best sellout we€™ve seen since Stone Cold sold out to Vince McMahon.
