10 Best WWE Theme Songs By Famous Artists

1. "Metalingus" - Alter Bridge (Edge)

Forget "Best Theme Songs By Famous Artists" - this may be the best WWE theme song ever.

Whether or not Alter Bridge (a.k.a. "Creed with a different singer") wrote "Metalingus" for Edge is unknown, but when he adopted the song in 2004, it certainly appeared to have been written with him in mind. Abandoning his original theme and his briefly-used "Never Gonna Stop" theme by Rob Zombie (which was good, but not as a pro-wrestling theme), this song's lyrics signified Edge's desire to break free from the mid-card. Coincidentally, it was around this time when we started to see a lot more of Edge in the main event.

Not only is the song thematically appropriate, but it also made The Rated-R Superstar feel more like a big deal whenever he entered. Watching as he entered through a cloud of smoke to the sound of that chaotic opening riff made it clear that this was no mid-carder anymore.

No, this sort of entrance was meant for only two kinds of people - a champion, or someone who was about to become one.
