WWE have an amazing ability to produce something magical when their backs are against the wall.

Case in point - WrestleMania 31.

Fans were dreading the prospect of seeing Roman Reigns defeat Brock Lesnar in the show's main event, but they equally weren't thrilled at the prospect of seeing Lesnar retain the WWE Championship either.

And then Seth Rollins' music hit.

The Architect - who had lost to Randy Orton earlier in the night - sprinted down to ringside, Money in the Bank briefcase in hand, and officially entered himself into the match. This was now a Triple Threat.

In the match's dramatic closing moments, Rollins took advantage of the chaos, hit Reigns with a Curb Stomp, and pinned him to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career. Reigns didn't get the belt, Brock didn't get pinned, and the crowd were sent home happy. This was perfect booking.

The intrigue, the drama, the excitement, and the sight of a new, young champion celebrating at the end of WrestleMania was exactly what fans wanted to see.

Not only is this the best WrestleMania ending, it's one of the best endings to a wrestling pay-per-view ever.
