10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Crown Jewel 2021

4. Big E "Steals" One

Big E as WWE Champion is a wonderful thing.

It's been a long time coming and although picking the bones of an injured Lashley via a cash-in isn't the most noble way of winning your maiden title, Big E has been believable as a babyface champion. He's beefy enough to dominate most men and he has charisma in spades.

The last thing he needs in his match with Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel is to "steal one".

One of WWE's laziest booking tropes, in order to make someone look strong in defeat, they have them lose via a roll-up. It helps no one and makes both competitors look inadequate - the exact opposite of what a promotion should be trying to do.

The feud has been serviceable, with McIntyre chasing the high of a title win in front of the fans that the pandemic robbed him of. He and Big E have great chemistry in the ring and the match should be a snug, hard-hitting encounter.

Drew is moving to SmackDown and will undoubtedly be positioned opposite Reigns as a title challenger. Therefore, if he is going to lose to Big E, they will want him to look strong. But this match needs to end with Big E dodging a Claymore and laying Drew out with a Big Ending.

There is no shame in losing to the WWE Champion, but there is considerable damage in making your WWE Champion appear fortunate to hold the belt.
