10 Big WWE Predictions For The Road To WrestleMania 33
1. Roman Reigns Turns Heel
Roman Reigns’ heel turn has been high on WWE fans’ wishlists for years. His character doesn't suit him, his crowd reactions are almost always negative, and his push is never-ending. Despite this, WWE have passed-up countless opportunities to turn Reigns in the past, and their insistence on pushing him as "The Guy" has become a source of great frustration.
Something changed in San Antonio, however. Reigns’ arrival at #30 in the Royal Rumble felt like a strategic move: not only did WWE need someone to take the heat for eliminating The Undertaker, but they needed to guarantee cheers for Randy Orton, the eventual victor. Reigns provided just that, but the most telling sign came from his interactions with the Deadman.
The look on Reigns’ face was one of pure malice as he stared down upon the eliminated Undertaker. This was not a hero’s expression, but one of a remorseless villain with nothing but contempt for his victim.
WWE are reportedly pairing the duo up for WrestleMania, and a full-on Reigns heel turn is the only logical choice. Whoever faces The Deadman is going to get jeered anyway, and this is the perfect opportunity for Reigns to finally assume his natural role. If WWE decide to go for it, look for them to do so in the next few weeks, and for Reigns to head into WrestleMania with bags of heat.
