10 Biggest Non-WWE Matches Of The Last Decade

2. Kazuchika Okada Vs. Kenny Omega (Dominion 6.11)

Okada Omega Dominion
NJPW

The match that proved that the sequel doesn't have to suck, Kazuchika Okada's second clash with Kenny Omega back at June's Dominion has topped just about every top 10 list on the internet.

Its quality, like the two other encounters these two shared in 2017, can't be questioned - but what about size and significance? Well, a good place to start is the fact that it's hard to imagine a North American juggernaut like Chris Jericho signing up for a stint in NJPW in a world where the Okada-Omega series didn't take place.

Japanese wrestling has never been more popular among fans in the West. Where it used to seem foreign and impenetrable, it now feels super easy to dip your toes into - and that's largely because of the incredibly compelling in-ring stories, like this one, that manage to break through the language barrier.

The only reason this bout - which got six and a quarter stars from Meltzer to the original's six - doesn't take the number one spot is because it didn't have quite the same eye-opening effect as part one (by this point, we were already awake).
