From CM Punk to Seth Rollins to Kevin Owens, WWE has signed a handful of former Ring of Honor World champions over the past-decade, and all of them have gone on to experience great success. Roderick Strong, who officially debuted in NXT in early October, should be no exception.

As soon as it was rumored his Ring of Honor contract was expiring over the summer, it was apparent he would be NXT bound before long. After all, he has the physical presence of a superstar, in addition to being absolutely exceptional in the ring. It's almost criminal he wasn't contracted by WWE sooner, but he remains at the top of his game at 33-years-old.

Strong arrived on the scene as Austin Aries' mystery tag team partner in the second annual Dusty Tag Team Classic, but the duo was forced to back out of the tournament as a result of Aries getting injured. Strong has been kept off NXT programming in his absence, though he is set to take part in the series of No. 1 Contender qualifying matches for the NXT Championship in the coming weeks.

While Aries is out, Strong could certainly flourish as a singles star and should make a major impact in 2017.
