Anderson Silva is one of those names who had an absolutely pivotal role in making UFC the hugely popular organisation that it is today.

Upon entering the UFC in 2006, The Spider embarked on a 16-fight winning streak that included a ridiculous 2,457-day reign as UFC Middleweight Champion. The Brazilian MMA icon is viewed by many fans to be the greatest fighter to ever compete in UFC - and a key part of that is down to the record-setting run that Silva went on.

What was even more impressive about this streak was the manner in which Anderson was getting victories. Nobody has ever made high-level MMA look as outright easy as Anderson Silva.

From his showboating, his lowering of his hands, and then his lethal strikes, Silva was a phenomenal, clinical, entertaning fighter in his prime - and the 44-year-old still has that unique aura and presence about him to this day.
