10 Biggest Wrestling Promo Botches
1. Triple H's Accidental Bisexuality
In the good taste vacuum the Attitude Era could become at its worst, impugning the sexuality of another wrestler for heat was far from unknown. It is unlikely, however, that doing so was at the forefront of Triple H's mind when he accidentally informed the television audience of a certain flexibility to his preferences in downstairs regions.
Trips was on commentary at King of the Ring 1998, sharing his wisdom with the world during a match between The Rock and Ken Shamrock.
"You're not bilingual?" asked Jim Ross, in response to a shot of Chyna chinwagging with the Spanish announce team.
"There's a lot of bi things I am,' replied Mr H. "But lingual isn't one of them."
It took a few seconds for the actual meaning of that sentence to percolate through Hunter Hearst Helmsley's brain, which in retrospect gave the whole thing perfect comic timing.
"Hey, wait a minute," said Trips, "Did I just mean to say that?"
"I don't think you did," replied JR smoothly, "but be that as it may, we're live." Because JR was absolutely the best.
