Kassius Ohno was heating up the indie circuit when he made a shock return to NXT. Since then, he's found himself in danger of treading water.

When Ohno returned to Full Sail, the NXT Championship picture was locked down by Nakamura and Roode. That said, he provided a credible main-eventer when NXT was in a bit of a lull. The problem is that since then, NXT has hit the nitro boost once more, suddenly swamped with talent and potential top guys.

Ohno surely did not cut off his run on the indies to get lost in the NXT shuffle. His first crack at the title came with a loss on television, while this weekend he was left off the TakeOver card. That means Ohno needs to get involved in some engaging storylines to get the fans behind him again.

Once he does that, his talent and experience as a main-eventer will surely bring him another title shot. His striking and athleticism were on display when he and Roode met in March. That kind of credible opponent only helps solidify Roode as champion, and there's plenty left for Ohno to give to the title picture.
