10 Conclusions From WWE RAW (June 15)

4. IC Title Suffering Without Bryan

Daniel Bryan's unfortunate habit of picking up an injury every time he secures championship gold has undoubtedly put a spanner in the works as far as WWE's plans for the Intercontinental title are concerned. Instead of having Bryan defend the belt in a series of great matches and rebuilding its importance, WWE have been left scraping the barrel in terms of ideas for just what to do with this storied championship.

Ryback as IC Champ could have worked. The Big Guy is much improved with microphone in hand, and capable of breathtaking physical feats like the Shell-Shocked he gave to Big Show on the previous RAW. But instead of going with this simple formula, WWE seem to think a three-way feud that involves The Miz is the way to go.

Ryback did have a point on commentary on this edition of RAW during Miz's match with Show, when he claimed that everyone enjoys seeing Miz getting beat up. This may be true, but we've already seen Miz getting his ass handed to him by both Ryback and Big Show over the last couple of weeks.

Nevertheless, we're going to see it again at Battleground before Miz steals the title from under the noses of the two juggernauts.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
