Here we have another reason why you shouldnt poke fun at the WWE. Jason Powell, in his blog for Prowrestling.net, speaks of how two friends of his were the victims of both a confiscation and an ejection at a WWE event in 2008. Fresh after the switch to PG, his friends, Ben Loney and Jonathan Minks, gave their family-friendly interpretation of Chris Jerichos Ass Clown catchphrase by parading a sign that read Butt Clown. What started out as a light-hearted rib turned into something more serious, when security asked Loney and Minks to stop holding up the sign as they were believed to be showboating. Ultimately the duo were ejected from the arena and banned from re-entering. Kicking the fans out for such an offenceif you can use that wordseems like far too extreme a punishment, particularly when the original sign wasnt even that inappropriate. There were no expletives involved, and it was more of an inside joke than anything. Perhaps theres something more to the story that were not being told here, but if the pair were indeed removed for simply displaying a Butt Clown sign, then its difficult to support the WWE on this one.
