Dean Ambrose was a guy that was meant for a promotion like ECW. He's the kind of free spirit that Heyman would love to have on his show because he could mould him into a great villain or hero as a character with many layers to him. Ambrose has a background working for some violent indy promotions like Insanity Pro Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling. If you spent any time searching for some of his indy matches as Jon Moxley, you can easily find bloody brawls that you would never see in WWE because they don't allow blood anymore. The stuff he did in CZW really got him noticed in the indy scene. When Ambrose was on Chris Jericho's podcast recently he said he really didn't love any of his WWE promos because they really didn't come from the heart. He said they came from WWE writers, so he didn't like them as much as when he did his own. In Heyman's ECW, there were no writers. Wrestlers were given bullet points for their promos to hit on key things and otherwise were left on their own to do them as they saw fit. Those three minute promos in front of a screen were classics. Ambrose could kill it in a setting like that. For all of WWE's talk about Ambrose being the "unhinged superstar" that is a bit crazy, they really hold him back a lot. He could be doing and saying so much more than he already does, but the PG rating prevents quite a bit as well as the mediocre writing team. It would be nice to see Heyman booking a guy like Ambrose. He could really get the most out of him.
