4. Randy Savage And The OTHER Allegation

'Macho Man' Randy Savage is the subject of a vile rumour. You know the one. Many have attempted to connect some dots and will it into existence, but it will not be covered here.

Savage was an intensely paranoid individual who channelled his real personality into his best work. Effectively method acting throughout the seminal Mega Powers Explode storyline, his belief that Hulk Hogan was out to steal his wife Elizabeth was, in retrospect, all too real. According to George 'The Animal' Steele, Savage, mad with jealousy, would hide Liz away. "There were times when he would lock her in the dressing room".

Savage is beloved as the composite 1980s wrestler - if you loved the pageantry, silliness and the technique, Savage embodied - and elevated - it all. It's hard to watch his work back with this - and the story of his relationship with WCW valet Gorgeous George (Stephanie Bellars) - in mind.

Speaking to David Penzer on his Sitting Ringside podcast (h/t wrestlingnews.co), Bellars revealed that Savage initially love-bombed her before he went "crazy" and, to her disgust - as alleged in a shoot interview with the Hannibal TV - he was so controlling that he made her hide in broom closets to prevent the other "boys" from making eye contact with her. On the A&E special covering Savage's career, Bellars also claimed that Savage broke into her house and bugged it with cameras and microphones so that he could monitor her activity.

While Savage's close association with the Special Olympics indicates that he wasn't entirely a monster, the man had his demons.
