10 Deadly Mistakes WWE Must NOT Make Before WrestleMania XL

9. Retiring The Women's Tag Team Titles

WWE does not care about the Women's Tag Team titles.

Introduced out of necessity, not want, WWE has done little to underscore the value of the titles in the four years they've existed. Lengthy reigns with the titles don't illustrate fabled reigns; they represent WWE's lack of intelligence that they do indeed still exist. Such was the case in 2022 when, after unceremoniously stripping Sasha Banks and Naomi of those belts, they immediately promised a tournament for the now-vacant titles that never came to fruition until three months later.

Post-Banks and Naomi, the doubles titles haven't been in improved health. However, there is no qualified reason for WWE to bin the straps.

They're not distinguished, reputable, or carrying any meaning, to the point they were the only titles not defended at WrestleMania 39, but they do provide a playground for WWE's female midcarders. That's wasn't quite the case lately, with Becky Lynch and Lita holding the championships for a spell, but take a glance at the prior few sets of champions - and indeed new Tag Team Champs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez - for a forewarning of what discarding the titles would do.
