10 Directions For New WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar

9. Make A Hot Start

Lesnar has bags of momentum after crushing Goldberg at WrestleMania 33, and it’s vital that he keeps it going on tonight’s post-Mania Raw. This is traditionally one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year, and the start of their brand new season. A no-show from the new champion would be criminal, and with Payback fewer than four weeks away, WWE need to build the next big title program ASAP.

There are a number of wrestlers who could argue for a title shot at the moment. Finn Bálor has been cleared to return, and never lost the belt in the first place. It’d make sense for him to confront Lesnar on Raw, but why stop there? Roman Reigns just retired The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and Seth Rollins can finally look towards title glory having vanquished Triple H once and for all.

Whoever WWE throw Lesnar against, it should start immediately. Doing so would send the message that the latest reign isn’t going to be anything like the one before it, and the Universal Title will finally be treated with the respect it sorely needs. It’s a simple formula, but having potential contenders interrupt one of Heyman and Lesnar’s in-ring promos is probably the way to go here.
