3. Mae Young Gives Birth To A Hand

What on earth was the WWE creative department thinking? Can you imagine how the creative meeting went for this one, with the idea being that 77 year old Mae Young gives to Mark Henry's child. Which then turns out to be a hand. In the run up to the birth, Bubba Ray Dudley also powerbombed Mae off the Raw stage and through a table. It was perhaps the height of the 2000 Attitude Era excess. But the hand birth really was the worst. Seeing a 77 year old woman giving birth to a bloody and gooey plastic hand really was weird for a professional wrestling show. If it happened in WCW, it would have been slaughtered. But some WWF fans actually liked the segment, seeing it as the kind of shock humour which defined popular wrestling in that period.
