10 Dream Scenarios For Wrestling's New BOOM Period

5. CM Punk Turns Heel

It's really quite astonishing to think that CM Punk returned to wrestling almost three years ago, helped destroy the vibe of the most fan-friendly mainstream wrestling outfit ever, broke the brains of half the audience, and revealed himself to be a bit of a hypocrite by going back to WWE - and he still hasn't played full-blown heel.

He was fantastic as the smug, overbearing pr*ck against Eddie Kingston. He had the time of his life mocking MJF in Long Island. Despite ostensibly playing a babyface as the Collision figurehead, he was a completely unlikeable megalomaniac on the very first episode.

People - rationally or otherwise - despise this man. This man has forever altered their brain chemistry and their ability to be sane. There is not a single wrestler better at provoking an intensely emotional reaction of pure hatred, and he would love to make a living winding them up. The best heel of his generation still hasn't played heel, and what's worse is that he does the impossible every time he opens his mouth. Nobody generates proper heat anymore. Wrestling itself is fundamentally flawed because it chases a feeling, a sentiment, that no longer exists in earnest.

Heat does exist when CM Punk does literally anything. People think this bloke destroyed the very innocence of a billionaire-funded pro wrestling league.

The man, if only somebody would turn him, could be the greatest heel of all-time. It needs to happen.
