10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Were Huge Disappointments
Imagination is almost always better than reality, especially in wrestling.
For as long as wrestling has existed, we've always dreamed of having our favorite wrestlers face off, even if it's not necessarily plausible or likely to happen. The most ambitious dream matches usually feature performers from different companies, different eras or different parts of the world. While the majority of dream matches will probably never happen, a fair few have, but reality rarely compares to our own imaginations. Sometimes it's because the wrestlers are too old, injured or out of shape by the time it's possible to make the match happen. Sometimes its a result of bad or sloppy planning, or that the match simply didn't go well. Admittedly part of it boils down to the mind of the individual and whether they had realistic expectations, for the most part you're likely to picture the most ideal or perfect scenario - the phrase 'dream match' doesn't exactly lend to typically average matches. This goes doubly for for rematches, just because it was amazing the first time doesn't mean lightning'll strike twice. For all of those times we tuned in to pay-per-views and didn't get what we wanted, for every poor, sloppy display from competitors we know can do better, for every time we've watched two 'legends' go at it far past their prime, here are ten dream matches that were huge disappointments.
