10 Dream WWE Matches Between Stars From Different Eras
If not for the limits of time, we could have seen some seriously brilliant matches.
Professional wrestling has a rich and storied history populated with captivating performers capable of luring the audience in with promos and angles, then delivering classic matches that provide varied emotional reactions. Most fans latched onto wrestling at a reasonably young age, be it as children fascinated with the larger than life characters who seemed to leap through the television screen, or as teenagers drawn to the simulated violence and envelope-pushing stories. Everyone wistfully muses on their own personal glory days, the time period when they most enjoyed following wrestling. It's hard to imagine that any fans - even the most ardently committed to following the product now - would admit that they enjoy it to the level they did when they first discovered it, and in honesty, virtually any form of pop cultural entertainment is always looked upon more fondly through nostalgic eyes. That isn't the reductive culture it could be though, as nostalgia encourages debate: put any two or more serious wrestling fans in a room and you're almost always likely to get a discussion of favourite matches, performers, shows and angles, and my favourite vs. your favourite is a debate that will never get old. It's amazing and almost depressing to look back and think about some potentially classic moments and matches we could have been witness to had time not stood in the way. Even some wrestlers who were in the same company during the same time hit their prime in vastly different eras and made real face-offs either less likely or just less compelling. So let's take a look at some of these dream matches we missed out on had some of WWE's most enduring stars existed at the same point in time...
