10 Emotional UFC Moments That Made The Fans Cry

6. Cormier's Crushing Loss

Few UFC fighters have ever shown as much outward emotion as Daniel Cormier, who, as well as being one of his generation's finest Light Heavyweights, has admitted himself that he often invests too much into his career. Still, it's one of the main reasons behind his popularity, and DC was never more sympathetic then when he bared his soul at UFC 214.

Cormier had just lost his second fight to Jon Jones. This outcome was more devastating than the first, as while their previous encounter ended via decision, this was a third-round knockout. 'Bones,' who was entirely unsympathetic after a lengthy string of controversies, had conquered him. The bad guy won, and Cormier was crushed.

Joe Rogan's post-fight interview was tough to watch. Cormier was bawling, and barely held himself together as he said, "I guess if he wins both fights, there's no rivalry." It was a sad admission of defeat from an ageing wrestle-boxer who clearly thought time had passed him by, and for those rooting for him (and against the villainous Jones), it was brutal viewing.

Rogan later apologised for interviewing DC in the first place, as he clearly wasn't in a position to gather his thoughts.
