Shinsuke Nakamura got off to a pretty promising start on WWE's main roster back in 2017.

After besting stars like Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, John Cena, and Randy Orton, 'The King of Strong Style' only went and won the 2018 Royal Rumble match, setting up a mouth-watering dream rematch with AJ Styles on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All.'

And while fans were largely aware that the pair's intriguing feud likely wouldn't end at WrestleMania 34 - this is WWE, after all - the way in which it was extended left a bad taste in just about everyone's mouths.

On the back of an 'okay' contest over the WWE Championship, Nak unfortunately came up short against the 'Phenomenal' champ. Then, just when it seemed as though the two super talented babyfaces were set to share a moment of respect, Shinsuke opted to blast Styles' balls with an emphatic low blow.

This moment acted as the catalyst for Nakamura's new heelish character, with said villainous version of the former NXT Champion suddenly becoming obsessed with obliterating Styles' b*ll*cks in the months to come.

The initial ball smack already acted as a weird end to a rather underwhelming contest. But the minute this was strangely turned into Nak's new defining character trait, fans lost all interest in the brilliant workers' ongoing war.
