It’s difficult to be a top wrestler without a great finishing move. It’s possible to be a big name without one, but it’s hard to imagine Steve Austin being as insanely over without The Stunner or The Undertaker without The Tombstone Piledriver.

You want to be able to close your eyes, and picture iconic finishers like Randy Savage jumping off the top rope with his elbow drop, or Bret Hart locking his opponent in The Sharpshooter as they fight for their survival. You're probably okay without envisioning Doink's Whoopee Cushion or Crush's Heart Punch.

Ideally, you want to be able to pull out a finishing move from a variety of situations, that way it gives the feeling that the match can end at any time. However, there’s only so many moves in existence that can have a surprise factor, and look believable enough to end a match, so some people are just going to get stuck with a bad one. It can happen even to the best wrestlers.

Not everyone can have a Jacknife Powerbomb to win their match - someone has to get stuck with a plain old bearhug, because that’s how life works!

Now here are ten famous wrestlers with terrible finishing moves.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
