10 Fantasy Wrestling Matches That Never Happened

1. Hulk Hogan vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - One Fall For The World Heavyweight Title

How can you not pick this match as number one? It is a match of the two biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling for the biggest prize in wrestling. Hulk Hogan was the one of the biggest stars in the world in the 1980s. Hulkamania was running wild and the Golden Age of professional wrestling saw the sport set ratings and attendance records all over the world. Hogan was drawing money against everyone he was put up against and that culminated in a Wrestlemania III clash with Andre the Giant that symbolized the peak of Vince McMahon's promotion in the 80s. Hogan was the classic babyface who always did the right thing, helped his friends, and worked hard against the odds. Hulk Hogan was a role model to millions, a pop culture icon, and is still one the most recognizable stars in the industry. If Hogan was the classic babyface, then Steve Austin changed what a babyface could be in the late 1990s. A castoff from WCW, Austin found a home in the WWF and quickly rose through the ranks as someone who rebelled against authority and the establishment. Austin became a babyface even though he never changed his mannerisms, Austin the babyface did the exact same things as Austin the heel, his targets just changed. Austin's feud with Vince McMahon drew more money than anything else in the history of professional wrestling and he still stands as the biggest draw in wrestling history. For you younger fans, you cannot even being to imagine how many "Austin 3:16" t-shirts were worn in the late 1990s. Austin brought the WWF to new heights and made Monday Night Raw must-see television for years. If you could take 1987 Hulk Hogan and place him against 1998 Steve Austin, you would have the most legendary match possible. There have never been two bigger stars and there would never be a bigger match. Honestly, would it matter who won?
