10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 1993 Facts
8. Randy Savage Replaced Mr. Perfect
One year after Mr. Perfect returned to the ring, filling in for Ultimate Warrior as Randy Savage's tag team partner, it was Savage that had to fill in for Perfect at the 1993 Survivor Series. Perfect was originally scheduled to appear on Razor Ramon's team against a foursome captained by Irwin R. Schyster.
Perfect vanished from house show bookings in late-October 1993, with Bob Backlund taking his place. Mentions of Perfect had been dropped from WWE programming, and he was noticeably absent from a brawl between the two teams that aired just 11 days before the pay-per-view.
Savage's fill-in was announced by Ramon as a surprise on the night of the show, after noting somewhat sourly that Perfect had backed out on his partners. Reportedly, Curt Hennig was taking time off to deal with family issues, though The Wrestling Observer has also claimed that Hennig was upset about not winning back the Intercontinental title.
