10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania 28 Facts

1. It Did The Highest Buyrate In WWE History

Five years after Donald Trump and Vince McMahon's ego-driven war over follicles set a new wrestling highmark with 1.2 million pay-per-view purchases, WrestleMania 28, motored by the "Once in a Lifetime" clash, raised the bar by squeaking past that number.

When the dust settled, WrestleMania 28 ended up with 1.217 million buys on pay-per-view, narrowly up on WrestleMania 23 by 1.42 percent. If ever you wonder why WWE keeps on trotting The Rock back to center stage, remember that Vince loves money. He loves lots of money. The Rock is money.

The advent of WWE Network means that it's unlikely WWE will ever see a buyrate like that in the traditional sense ever again. For that reason, perhaps the "End of an Era" tagline should've been affixed to the entire show.
