When TNA started to have severe money problems, almost all of their top names left. Some of them didn’t have any effect on the company, while some (like A.J. Styles made Impact lose a part of its identity.

While Magnus wasn’t as popular as The Phenomenal One, his departure still stung. Here was a guy who’d been with the company for years, starting off in a ridiculous gladiator gimmick and growing into a World Champion by the end of his run. It’s time for his return.

It seems a bit odd that he hasn’t been offered a deal in WWE or NXT since he left TNA. He’s got a good look, he’s still under 30-years-old and he has a lot of charisma and poise. He’s currently the Global Wrestling Federation champion, but they don’t seem to be going anywhere, so somebody bigger should make a play for him.

Magnus would fit in well with TNA’s new main event scene with ready-made rivalries against Mike Bennett, EC III, Lashley and Aron Rex waiting for him. And if his wife and former Knockouts Champion Mickie James is up for another run, she would lend some more star power to the women's ranks as well.

As things are right now, it's a shame that this talented young guy can't be seen anywhere on a weekly wrestling show.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
