10 Gimmicks WWE Wrestlers Will Want You To Forget In 5 Years

9. Nikki Cross

Entering on the June 21st episode of RAW to a new theme and decked in a vibrant superhero get-up, Cross marked a significant shift in presentation, likely needed after playing second fiddle in the Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair feud. What absolutely nobody could have expected, however, was for Cross to step into a phonebox between episodes of RAW, and emerge as Invincible's legally distinct, non-union counterpart.

In a backstage interview, Nikki walked the fanbase through the reasons for her sudden change, and while the message of self-confidence and courage is definitely a welcome characteristic for a WWE babyface, the immediate nature of this transformation and the cartoonish mask and singlet Cross now dons have led many to instantly reject the character.

Nikki, and her husband, the recently released Killian Dain, however, have defended the gimmick on social media, with both claiming that the new character is the brainchild of Cross herself and that she is happy to see her idea finally realised. With that being the case, hopefully Cross is able to swing the detractors to her side, though from the current state of Twitter, that seems like a task requiring super-human strength.
