It is genuinely quite tough to watch the 2020 Royal Rumble matches back. Successes in their own right, they are monuments to a time that feels longer than a year ago and even further away from a future where it can happen again.

More than just the wrestling, the show exists as a snapshot of the time just before the time. The time that forced almost everything but wrestling indoors, and wrestling into rooms with only one door. And no fans. And no particular knowledge of when that situation might change.

There have been several pressing knock-on effects from this wretched era. So much so that complaining about wrestlers not currently bothering to spend big on gear feels a little glib. But it's been a barren time.

Worst still, there was no Zelina Vega. A miss anyway for how fabulously talented she was, recent evacuee Vega always relished the opportunity to show off some of her incredible creations on the company's biggest stages. In the absence of a prodigious cosplayer, several of the night's biggest stars stepped up with some quality creations of their own.

And yet, each one served as a minuscule light peering out from behind an enormous tunnel - even just the flashes of the pay-per-view special editions from the likes of Bayley, Liv Morgan and The New Day here gave rise to the hope that a new normal is forthcoming. If it does, we'll get even cooler threads too....

10. Bayley - Cole Mining

Always a hit in these pages, Bayley's hair has become the source of her aesthetic flair since switching out the neon spandex for black denim.

This time around, she's shaven the name of her fiercest rival beyond Sasha Banks - Michael Cole. Evidently she had aspirations beyond reclaiming her SmackDown Women's Championship - if she won the Rumble, she was laying down a WrestleMania challenge to the man himself.
