To many UFC fans, UFC 194 is seen as the night that Conor McGregor really cemented his status amongst the sport’s truly elite fighters.

Going into the December 2015 MGM Grand event, McGregor was to face his toughest test yet as he battled UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo. While The Notorious had impressed in his previous fights and become interim Featherweight Champ, the Aldo challenge was one that some deemed to be one step too far for Conor.

In typical Conor McGregor fashion, though, the Irish fighter didn’t bother to listen to the naysayers and swiftly knocked out Aldo in just 13 seconds – the fastest finish ever in a UFC title fight.

Away from the main event, Luke Rockhold defeated Chris Weidman to become UFC Middleweight Champion, while there were notable victories for Yoel Romero, Demian Maia, Max Holloway, Urijah Faber, and Warlley Alves.

On top of the 1.2 million PPV buys, the MGM crowd of 16,500 fans paid a hefty $10 million to see Conor McGregor break out into superstardom.
