10 Iconic Wrestling Personalities Even The Haters Love
3. Mick Foley
Whether you know him best as Dude Love, Mankind, Cactus Jack or just plain and simple Mick Foley, there's not a fan in the world who doesn't feel a familiar connection to this legendary hardcore wrestler.
Foley was one of the pioneers of the darker and edgier content popularised in ECW and eventually the Attitude Era, where Mick himself played a massive role. He has given everything he has to this industry, perhaps even too much, and this has made him one of the most beloved and respected figures within it.
Further than just the horrifying bumps - which have cost him mobility and even an ear - he has this overwhelmingly wholesome vibe, that truly counteracts the vicious and barbaric nature of his in-ring work. Foley clearly holds a lot of regret for his riskier sequences, but has no bitterness towards the industry, as he lived the life of a top wrestling star, despite appearing to be the complete opposite of one.
His promos were always sublime, as his acting ability was through the roof. Additionally, thanks to his comedic and goofy persona, it was very easy to love him, as the guy was always entertaining and came across like a genuinely decent person.
