1. Adam Cole Vs. Daniel Bryan II
It might seem a bit soon to return to this one but WWE really should capitalise on the brilliant last minute narrative they conjured for SmackDown. Forced into a corner by circumstance, they pulled off something much better than the average WWE TV episode.
It seems WWE always over-deliver when forced to change their plans at short notice. May they always be beset by problems.
The last minute match between Bryan and Cole was neatly tied into Bryan’s storied history with Cole’s “Daddy” Triple H. The former B+ player was too distracted by HHH at ringside to get the job done against Trip’s golden boy.
He’ll be keen to prove he can best The Game’s chosen champion. To succeed he’ll need to focus and not let Cole or Hunter get in his head.
Can he do it? This one could go either way but it doesn’t matter who wins. Irrespective of the result, these two are capable of a match that leaves Bryan looking strong in defeat or elevates Cole as a star even if he loses.
