10 Incredible Stories Behind Famous Wrestling Themes

10. Cesaro's First WWE Theme Was Made For Dean Malenko

Making his first appearances on the main roster in 2012, Cesaro used a theme many, er, 'owl-eared' fans may remember from the year 2000. By the end of that year, the creative team were looking for new ideas they could use to help give Dean Malenko a fighting chance on the roster. Malenko's supreme in-ring skills weren't considered enough to help him stand out, so a new character, based on James Bond, was conceived.

The entire project would be short-lived, but it's interesting that WWE rehashed the music used for Malenko and gave it to Cesaro. Thankfully, the ladies man gimmick didn't come with it, although maybe that would have been preferable to the yodelling schtick the writing staff slapped on the man!
