10 Incredible Wrestlers Fans WROTE-OFF Before They Were Famous

9. Baron Corbin

There's been a sorry 'Constable' Corbin moment for every fun 'Bum Ass' Corbin one in this dude's career. At times, he's charmed audiences into getting behind him (as the aforementioned broke version and more recently down in NXT when teaming with Bron Breakker), but a lot of Baron's WWE run played before scepticism and a fair amount of 'go away' heat. Retiring Kurt Angle might've been the final straw for many wrestling lifers.

Those folks seemed to have made their minds up about Corbs long before that, to be fair. He was greeted with a sigh upon moving up from NXT to the main roster in 2016, and it'd take years of trial and error before some came onboard with Baron at all. This fan can even recall being personally hyped about some of his work in developmental, but no - you weren't allowed to like Corbin. Certainly not as much as other NXT'ers like Finn Bálor or Kevin Owens.

Granted, both those workers far exceeded Baron's skillset on their worst day, but...is it OK to admit some people needed to cool it with the Corbin hate? Sure, he was never the right guy to end Kurt's career at WrestleMania 35, and some of the Raw 'Constable' fare was appalling, but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as haters instantly marked him as being overall.

There just always seemed to be an auto-stench for many with Baron. He could've had world class matches aplenty and the haters were still going to hate, hate, hate. To his credit, that never seemed to bother Corbin too much, at least publicly.
