7. Triple H (vs. Chris Jericho - WrestleMania X-8)
Unfortunately, the thunderous reception Triple H received when he returned in January, 2002 would be bigger than the response to his title win at WrestleMania X-8. Madison Square Garden erupted when 'The Game' made his presence felt, but the SkyDome in Toronto wasn't so hot months later. Triple H's feud with Chris Jericho just wasn't satisfying. Part of the problem was that Jericho - as champion - came across as a secondary character. The real beef seemed to be between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, making 'Y2J' very much Stephanie's lackey. This shouldn't have happened, Chris Jericho was the first Undisputed WWF Champion in history, and had unified the WCW and WWF belts just months earlier. Come 'Mania however, fans were apathetic towards the Jericho vs. Triple H bout. Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock had fittingly rocked the house moments before, making the World Title match a poor choice for the main event slot. Triple H's return was capped off by winning the title, but it didn't feel gratifying at all.
