10 Insane WWE Moments Only Possible In The Royal Rumble
3. The Three Faces Of Foley
It isn't uncommon for wrestlers to utilise multiple gimmicks throughout their careers. Nor is it out of the ordinary for the same wrestler to use multiple gimmicks over the course of their tenure with the same company. What is unusual though, is for the same wrestler to use multiple gimmicks at the same time - and all in the same match.
That's what happened in 1998 when Mick Foley not only appeared in the Royal Rumble match as Cactus Jack, but also Mankind and Dude Love. None of his alter-egos would outlast the other 27 competitors, but it was a truly unique moment in a match that had been running for 20 years by this point, and something that could only happen in the Royal Rumble.
This is something WWE has never attempted to replicate, but with Bray Wyatt and his multiple personalities featuring so heavily on television these days, it wouldn't be surprising to see them revisit the idea at a future Royal Rumble PPV.
