10 Insanely High and Death-Defying Falls In Wrestling

3. The Road Warriors Vs. The Midnight Express (Starrcade '86)

Also known as The Night of the Skywalkers, this night should probably be known as The Night That Jim Cornette's Knees Retired from the Business.

Four tag team specialists slowly stumbled and punched their way through this ludicrous stipulation, trying not to tumble off of the rickety platform 20 feet above the ring before they were supposed to. It's awkward and not all that entertaining, to be honest.

But the payoff came later when Paul Ellering chased Jim Cornette up onto the scaffold, and gravity took hold of the dumpy Louisville Lip. With Big Bubba Rogers below to catch him, Cornette let go of the scaffold and dropped to the mat below, tearing every ligament in his knee because Rogers misjudged Cornette's fall and missed catching him entirely.

WCW would try to recapture this magic years later by tossing Billy Kidman off a scaffold to the stage below at Fall Brawl, but it just wasn't the same.
