10 Last-Minute WWE Clash Of Champions 2016 Rumors You Need To Know

1. Goldberg Returns

Finally, the most talked-about Clash of Champions rumor of all: Goldberg’s alleged return.

Stories of the former WCW Champion’s imminent WWE return have been circulating since his inclusion in WWE 2K17 was announced. While Goldberg teased an appearance at SummerSlam to clash with Brock Lesnar, this obviously failed to materialise, and Goldberg once again faded from mainstream wrestling consciousness.

The rumors have fired-up again, however, and with Goldberg set to be in Indianapolis this Sunday night, the internet is rife with speculation. Goldberg is set to take part in a live edition of Eric Bischoff’s podcast until 3pm on Sunday afternoon, and with Clash kicking-off at 7, it’d be easy for him to get to the show in-time.

Goldberg himself has shot the rumor down, but since when did that mean anything? He’s hardly going to say “yes,” and while Goldberg has frequently teased the press in similar situations over the years, it’s hard to take his words at face value.

Whether it transpires on Sunday or not, Goldberg is still in fighting shape, and one last WWE match seems inevitable at this point. He’ll make his return sooner or later, and it might just be this weekend.
