10 Legendary Wrestlers Who Never Won A Major World Title

1. Owen Hart

Owen Hart is another contender that had a world championship at one time. But much like the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship, that title has a hard time claiming legitimacy.

The average title reign of the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship was a couple of months and Jerry “The King” Lawler himself held that belt no less than twenty-eight times. And we complain about Cena’s fifteen WWE Titles.

Moving on, Owen Hart’s is possibly the most tragic story of all the champions who never got their chance. Few wrestling fans are moved by anything as much as they are moved by the death of Owen Hart. Owen in the ring was easily the equal of his brother, Bret.

Both were members of their dad’s – Stu Hart – legendary dungeon, which is why their talents were unequalled. Like Malenko, if Owen had gone on to enter WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era, there was no way that, with two belts to take advantage of, he was going to let that pass him by.

But his tragic fall in 1999 sadly put an end to one of the great in ring performers and entertainers. He left WWE, and this world, having won every prize except the big one.
