Unlike many entries on this list, Ricky Steamboat's WrestleMania XXV appearance wasn't bizarre for its short-sightedness or ineffectiveness, but rather it was bizarre for just how good The Dragon still was in the ring.

Steamboat was perhaps the archetypal babyface of the Golden Era, wrestling a high-paced style lightyears ahead of the times, and put on one of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time with Macho Man Randy Savage at WrestleMania III.

He returned alongside fellow legends Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper for a feud against Chris Jericho in the build to WrestleMania XXV, and proved at the event that true class never really fades. Although the trio lost the handicap match to Y2J, Steamboat demonstrated his incredible agility once again, performing spots that should be far beyond a man of 52.

He rightly earned a thunderous 'you still got it chant', sealing perhaps the best surprise return of all-time.
