When Kane debuted, he was just about the scariest wrestler anyone had ever seen. Larger and more intimidating than The Undertaker, the red-clad maniac struck fear in the hearts of fans. Later, a surprising face turn made Kane a shocking sympathetic babyface. Then, he spent 15 years spinning his wheels, trying to do the same old stuff to less and less effect.

In 2016, we saw less of Kane that we did before - his "Corporate Kane" persona was written off the previous year and only "The Demon" remained - but it was still enough to warrant a place on the list. The near 50-year-old doesn't have a great singles match to his credit in his 20-plus year WWE career, and he surely didn't get close to having one in the past 12 months. Instead, he relied on the same old slow strikes and chokes to get his point across, making even his shorter bouts feel like Iron Man matches.

Kane's main role has been to function as a storyline surprise or punishment - heels shake in their boots when his pyro hits and he makes his way to the ring. Unfortunately, that typically means that more talented stars get beaten by him and boredom reigns.
