10 Most Improved WWE Superstars Of 2016

3. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho might be considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, but he was in a terrible position at the start of the year. His babyface performances were flat, lifeless, and uninspired, and one of the best talkers in the sport’s history was left screaming “rooty! Tooty! Booty!” at The New Day back in January.

Jericho was then tasked with welcoming AJ Styles to WWE, and while his performances improved, he still didn’t look like he wanted to be there. Jericho defeated Styles at WrestleMania, then took a pinfall to him the following night, and that’s when everything changed.

Y2J was reborn as a villain. He grew a terrible moustache, wore an expensive scarf, and made the most basic schoolyard insult in the world (“STUPID IDIOT!”) an essential pro-wrestling catchphrase. “The List of Jericho” is more popular than most of the roster, and in Kevin Owens, Jericho has found a “best friend” with whom he has an insane level of chemistry.

Against all odds, Chris Jericho has become one of Raw’s biggest highlights. He has successfully revitalised his act’s every aspect, and while it looked like he was mailing it in at the start of the year, he certainly isn’t anymore. His best years are definitely behind him, but Jericho’s Indian Summer has been incredible.
