10 Most Mind-Boggling Releases WWE Just Announced

1. Keith Lee

Hands down, the most mind-boggling release announced this week is Keith Lee, a guy who made a huge splash at Survivor Series 2019 in hanging with Roman Reigns.

Set aside how completely WWE botched his debut and first year on the main roster. Set aside his lost time due to health issues and start-and-stop pushes.

Regardless of what you think of it, WWE had just gone through the motions of repackaging him as Keith “Bearcat” Lee, retooling his gear, entrance music and in-ring style. Lee essentially had turned heel (it was tough to tell since he hadn’t given a promo yet since returning) and changed his wrestling style to remove nearly all crowd-pleasing aspects.

Lee himself said that Vince McMahon was very hands-on with this new character. Then just days later, the Limitless One found himself released. If ever there was a guy who should have had “can’t miss” stamped on him, it was Lee. This guy legit could have been a two-time WWE Champion by now, and should have been a perennial title contender.

Instead, he’s now waiting out a 90-day non-compete clause before he can really stick it to WWE by showing them what they lost.
