Speaking of The Undertaker, he played a huge part in the infamous 'Higher Power' angle of 1999. Joining his 'Ministry Of Darkness' faction with Shane McMahon's 'Corporation', the combined effort became known as 'The Corporate Ministry'. Feuding with Vince McMahon and terrorising the entire promotion, 'Taker started talking about a 'Greater/Higher Power' who was pulling the strings. That's where McMahon entered the scene, revealing himself on an episode of Raw Is War. Previously, Undertaker had strung Steve Austin up on his 'symbol', a segment which received widespread criticism. Many felt the company had pretty much staged a crucifixion on live television. During the skit, the 'Higher Power' - hidden under robes - revealed their face to Austin. Fans wouldn't find out who it was until later, when McMahon infamously shed the robe and revealed himself to be the character. This would lead to yet another feud with Austin, wrestling over control of the WWF. The Undertaker's storyline power was lessened by the revelation, but at least for a while people were genuinely intrigued as to who the 'Higher Power' could be.
